ELF Mango Madness

I recently picked up most of the new Elf polishes while they had free shipping, the matte topcoat and one other were sold out. I got Passion Pink, Mango Madness, Purple Pleaser and Rosy Raisin. The Passion Pink and Mango Madness were labelled incorrectly but there was a note in the box.   Since I got these, the Christmas collection has been released, and I ordered those polishes on Friday and they arrived on Monday (with free shipping), they are really nice, I'll pop some pictures up on the blog, during the week.

This is Mango Madness, it is a very very bright Orange, with a hint of pink in it. The bottle colour is probably the most colour accurate, but it sometimes looks like the colour on the nails too, depending on the light.

Application of this was fine, the pictures show 2 coats, with one of Seche Vite on top. The ELF brush is usually fine except when you have a stray hair or two, in this lot all the brushes were fine.  I wore this for maybe 3 or 4 days and the wear was fine, just a little bit of tipwear.  This one is not bad at all for the princely sum of £1.50 if you're in Europe or $1 if you are in the US. If you follow elf

Have you tried this one? What do you think?

Transdesign haul

Last week, I received my order from Transdesign, I had ordered to get some the new OPI burlesques but had to throw in a few more, just to make the shipping worth it. (obviously!) So here's what I got.

This is one of the duo sets, which contains Teas-y does it  and Sparkle-icious, along with some shimmer powder. I also meant to Simmer and Shimmer but I got confuzzled and got two sparkle-icious by mistake!

I, also, got my first two Colour Clubs, Who are you Wearing and Revvvolution. Look at the lovely holo goodness in Revvvolution, I hope that comes out on the nail!

Now, for some more firsts, I got my first Misa, Amour and New York Summer. From L-R, we have Misa Dirty Sexy Money, Amour Rain Glitter and New York Summer Amaranth.
So I'm extremely annoyed at myself for messing up the OPI part of the order, and it's not helped by the fact at first glance Sparkle-icous doesn't look all that different to Rain Glitter, looking closer they are different.

Rain glitter on the left, doesn't seem to have the yellow glitter in in that Sparkle-icious has and it has more red than Sparkle-icious. You can click the picture to make it larger for a better look!

I'll try and get pictures of these up as soon as possible, but if there's one you'd like to see first let me know!

Nail Mail!

This fabulous package arrived for me on Monday but with one thing and another this week  turned in a giant PITA!  I’m only getting around to posting it now,  I won a giveaway on the lovely Jennifer’s blog, Nail Polish Addiction Anonymus, check out her fab blog here

So, this is what she sent me, isn’t it lovely? It completely and utterly made my day when I finally got to open it two days after it arrived.

And in a little more detail, China Glaze Halloween colllection, from L-R, Mummy May I, Zombie Zest, Ick-A-Body and China Glaze's Fast Dry Topcoat.

From L-R, Nicole by OPI, Such a Go-Glitter  (the bottle shape is so weird on this one!) and the very elusive Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure, this is a flakie that is very close to Gosh Rainbow and Nubar 2010.

The minis from the OPI Spanish Collection, from L-R, Suzi Skies in the Pyrenees, No Spain No Gain, Pink Flamenco and OPI fast dry topcoat.

Two Bare Escentuals eyeshadows in Clarity and Socialite and an eyeshadow brush (seen in picture above).

I promise I won’t try to do many more make up swatches, I don’t think I’d make a very good make up blogger, I just wanted to show you the lovely colours and there was no other way to show you!

Is there any these you’d like to see, I have Zombie Zest coming up soon as a NOTD post?

My first Gosh polishes.

I was wandering round the shops during the week, when I spied a lonely fully stocked Gosh stand (except for Rainbow) with the polishes on offer 2 for €12, they normally retail at €8.50 each. So it would have been rude not to pick up two!

I got Purple Heart and Holographic,

Swatches coming up!

Storage and My New Teapot!

At the moment, I keep my polish in random boxes all over the place, I really need a better way to store them.  I was shopping during my days off, and I spied these boxes thinking they’d be just right for my polish collection, I snapped them right up.

Turns out they are perfect for polish, I took a quick count I reckon there’s over 50 polishes in both boxes.  The bottom box has all my tried polish, the middle box has the untrieds and topcoats, etc, and the top box has all the bits of make up that were hanging around my bag and the sitting room. I want to get some more of these. They were €8 for 3 in Dunnes.

Tried box,

Untried box,

While I was in Dunnes, I also picked up a new teapot and sugar bowl milk jug set.

The teapot was €7 and the sugar bowl, milk jug set on the tray was €8.

Haul

I took a few days off over the last week, I just wanted to get a few things done before Uni, started back.  Of course, this necessitated a couple of visits to Boots, where *ahem* some polishes may have sneaked their way in my basket!

From L-R, No 7 Matte Top Coat, No 7 Grey skies, Barry M Vivid Purple, Barry M Raspberry, 17 Ruby Dazzle, 17 Peacock and 17 Exquisite.

I was really excited to see Barry M in Boot’s, we’ve never had it before. Although, because it was new, the stand was ransacked. The Barry M polishes cost €4.50, but were on offer 2 for €8. The bottles hold 10ml. I’ll go back and get more soon, when the stand is refilled!

The two No7 polishes cost €9.75 for 10ml. They're a great thing to use the €7.50 of No7 vouchers, if you have any floating around!  The 17 fast finish polishes cost €4.29, but were on offer 2 for €6.50 according to my receipt, there was no sign. The lasting finish was €3.99. I would have got another polish if I had known about the offer. The 17 polishes are 8ml.

Topshop Gypsy Night

So I celebrated a birthday recently and among all the other lovely presents I received, little sis bought me some nail varnish. One Topshop polish and two Essence from the Return to Paradise collection.

From L-R Topshop Gypsy Night, Essence Back to Paradise and Essence Jungle Drum.

They are all beautiful, little sis  has great taste! But the minute, I saw the Topshop polish I knew that was my next mani. It didn’t disappoint.  This is my first Topshop polish in since I was about 14, I remember going to London and coming back with the most amazing aubergine colour Topshop polish and wearing it all the time.

While I was wearing this I couldn’t keep my eyes off it, every time I glanced at it the colours it threw up were slightly different. I couldn't decide if the base was black or a had a brownish tint to it. There are flakies and glitter in the polish. In the bottle there are orange and green flashes from the flakies. I’m pretty sure these are what give the brownish tint to the base colour in the polish. The glitter then flashes every colour of the rainbow. I’ve included some out of focus pictures to give and idea of the colour of the glitters in the polish.

This picture shows the orange flakes on the ring finger and in the bottle,

The out of focus pictures show more of the colours.

The one downside on this polish was the wear was quite rubbish, but the polish was so amazing I can live with that.  (There’s tipwear evident in the photos taken a few hours after I applied it.)  Since the polish was a present, I can’t be totally sure of the price but I think it was about €8, and the bottles hold 8ml. (The essence polishes pictured above are 10ml)

I’ll do a post soon on the other two polishes.  Comments as always are welcome!

A Small Haul

Recently, I switched to an acetone remover from non-acetone and it was having an effect on my cuticles, so I decided that some cuticle remover was possibly in order and since I was doing an etailer order I thought I better through in a few other things to make in worth my while.  So here’s what arrived.

CND cuticle eraser, I’ve started to use this I’ll let you know more about this when I’ve used it for a little longer. China Glaze For Audrey, a lovely tiffany blue colour and my first two Nubars. Nubar 2010 is a dupe of the famous Gosh Rainbow (or if you are US based Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure) since I owned neither of the other two I thought that it was time to get my hands on it. Nubar Violet Sparkle is a purple glittery bottle of goodness.  I did a quick swatch of this when the package arrived and it’s fab but it’s going to be hell to take off so while I’m dying to wear this I’m also a bit hesitant!

Elf Haul

Recently ELF (eyelipsface.co.uk) had a promo code, spend £10 get free delivery and 3 lipglosses. They’d recently had new nail colours released on the UK site, I don't believe they were new to the US site. So I put an order in, for five polishes and a brush.

First up the five polishes from L-R, Innocent, Desert Haze, Smokey Brown, Lilac and Mint cream.

As soon as I saw the polishes in real life, a couple looked familiar, so swatches and comparisons to follow!

Also I got the one of the studio brushes the powder brush. Although it’s called the powder brush I had read that its great for liquid foundation. I’ve only used it once and didn’t fare that well with it, but I’ll try it again. Also in the picture are the 3 glosses I received free. The two coloured ones are very similar and had no names when they arrived and a clear one, I haven’t used any of them yet. So, no comment on those.

The ELF polishes are £1.50 each, as are most items on there website. The studio range mostly is £3.50, as are items from the mineral range. (If you are in the states things are a little cheaper) Check out their facebook fan page they often have promotions.

Bottle pics of each of the polishes.

First up Innocent.

Desert Haze

Smokey Brown

Lilac

and finally Mint Cream

Have you tried any ELF polishes? How did you find them? As always I'd love to hear any comments!
